A New Year and a New Competition.
Working with a fantastic team of UT students we worked for a fast and furious two weeks to put together a proposal which aimed to restore Chicago's manufacturing roots. The brief was to create a master plan for the 10-year development of the old Fleet & Facility complex in a northern planned manufacturing district. Our proposal returned to a traditional emphasis of the Chicago economy and aimed to localize and consolidate food production into a new North Branch Provision District which would blend together agricultural manufacturing, education, and housing into a vibrant new community based around local produce.
